Minesweeper Player Guide
Clear the board with logic, flags, and careful reading of every number clue.
Game
Classic Deductive Logic Grid
Minesweeper is a single-player logic puzzle where hidden mines are scattered under a covered grid. The goal is to reveal every safe square without detonating a mine, using only the numerical clues uncovered as you play.
How to play
Reveal Safe Squares and Flag Mines
Tap or click a covered square to reveal it. If it is safe, it shows a number telling you how many mines are hidden in the eight surrounding squares. If it is a mine, the game ends.
Use the Flag tool to mark squares you know contain mines. Once all non-mine squares have been revealed, you win. This version also has 100% first-click safety, so your first move is never a mine.
Strategy
Read Numbers as Promises
A revealed number tells you exactly how many adjacent mines exist. If a 1 touches only one covered square, that square must be a mine. If a number already has the correct number of flags around it, the remaining covered neighbors are safe.
Watch for repeated edge patterns such as 1-1, 1-2-1, and 1-2-2-1. These patterns often reveal safe squares without guessing, especially along straight walls of covered cells.
