How to Play Sudoku (Standard 9x9 Rules)
Sudoku is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9ร9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3ร3 subgrids that compose the grid (also called "boxes" or "blocks") contains all of the digits from 1 to 9.
The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid, which for a well-posed puzzle has a single unique solution. On Bryxo Games, we guarantee that all generated boards have exactly one unique, mathematically correct solution.
Essential Sudoku Strategies (From Beginner to Advanced)
If you are stuck on a Sudoku grid, avoid guessing! Try these logical techniques:
Sole Candidate (Naked Single): If a cell has only one possible candidate number remaining after crossing out existing values in its row, column, and 3x3 box, you can immediately fill that number in!
Unique Candidate (Hidden Single): If a number can only physically fit in one cell within a specific row, column, or 3x3 block (even if that cell has other candidate notes written), that number must be placed in that cell.
Pencil Notes (Candidate Elimination): Use the Notes Mode (Pencil) to list multiple numbers inside empty cells. As you fill rows and blocks, eliminate candidate notes. This is crucial for solving harder Sudoku grids without mental fatigue.
Naked Pairs: If two cells in the same block or row contain the exact same pair of candidate notes (and no other numbers), you can eliminate those two numbers from all other cells in that same block or row.
Daily synchronized play and high-score submits
Bryxo Games features a Daily Sudoku Challenge that changes every 24 hours (synchronized globally). Every player across the globe gets the exact same grid on any given day.
Once solved, your completed time and input count are evaluated into an algorithmic score. You can submit your victory to the Bryxo Weekly Leaderboard to rank yourself against logic solvers worldwide!

Classic 9x9 Number Logic
Sudoku is a logic-based number-placement puzzle. The goal is to fill a 9x9 grid so each row, each column, and each of the nine 3x3 boxes contains every digit from 1 to 9 exactly once.
How to play
Place Digits Without Repeating
Tap any empty cell and use the number pad to input a digit. Every puzzle starts with given numbers, and every answer can be found through logic rather than math or guessing.
Use Pencil / Notes mode to track possible candidates in harder puzzles. The difficulty depends on the solving techniques required, not just the number of starting clues.
Strategy
Scan, Note, Eliminate
Start by scanning rows, columns, and boxes that are nearly complete. If one empty cell has only a single possible digit left, place it confidently. If a digit can fit in only one cell within a region, that cell must take it.
Notes are especially useful when two cells in the same region share the same pair of candidates. Those two digits must occupy those cells, so you can remove them from the rest of that row, column, or box.
